Major Updates
The new BMW iX facelift brings several improvements across the lineup. All variants now get larger batteries, increased power output, and extended range. The exterior receives a redesigned grille, updated alloy wheels, and a refreshed bumper design.
Inside, new seats with better lumbar support and a redesigned steering wheel enhance comfort and driving experience. The lineup now consists of three variants: iX 45, iX 60, and iX M70, replacing the previous iX 40, iX 50, and iX M60, respectively.
Exterior Enhancements
While the facelifted iX retains much of its signature styling, BMW has introduced subtle yet impactful changes. The elongated kidney grille now features horizontally opposed diagonal lines and can be optioned with Iconic Glow Illumination.
The front bumper has larger air dams at the center and slimmer vertical air intakes at both ends. The LED headlights now sport a diagonal signature inspired by the M4 CS.
On the side, a silver insert on the skirts and new alloy wheel designs add a fresh look. The SUV now offers 20-inch standard wheels, while 21-inch and 22-inch wheels are available as options with the M Sport package. The iX M70 can even be equipped with 23-inch wheels. At the rear, a new bumper with an integrated diffuser is the primary update.
Interior Upgrades
The cabin retains its luxurious and high-tech feel but now features some meaningful upgrades. The steering wheel adopts a three-spoke round design, replacing the pentagonal two-spoke design of the previous model.
The biggest change comes in the form of BMWโs new M Multi-Function seats, which are standard on the iX M70 and available as part of the M Sport package for the iX 45 and iX 60.
BMW claims that the new seats offer better contouring, improved lumbar support, adjustable backrest width, and active ventilation. Customers can choose from premium upholstery options, including Castanea natural leather, Amido natural leather, and a microfibre/Sensatec combination in Atlas Grey/Black with M-specific stitching.
Powertrain & Performance
All three variants of the facelifted BMW iX come with dual motors and all-wheel drive (AWD). The iX 45 gets a 94.8 kWh battery, producing 402 hp and 700 Nm of torque, marking an increase of 80 hp and 70 Nm over the outgoing iX 40. The iX 60 features a larger 109.1 kWh battery, generating 536 hp and 765 Nm of torque, which is 13 hp more than the previous iX 50.
The top-of-the-line iX M70 has a 108.9 kWh battery, but its performance-focused tuning allows it to churn out an impressive 659 hp and up to 1,100 Nm of torque (with launch control activated), an increase of 49 hp over the previous iX M60.
In terms of range, the iX 60 leads the lineup with a WLTP-estimated range of up to 701 km on a full charge. The iX 45 follows with a claimed range of 602 km, while the iX M70 delivers up to 600 km. The iX M70 and iX 60 support DC fast charging up to 195 kW, whereas the iX 45 offers a maximum of 175 kW.
India Launch & Expected Pricing
Following its global debut in spring 2025, the BMW iX facelift is expected to arrive in India by late 2025. Currently, BMW offers only the iX xDrive 50 in India, priced at โน1.39 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It remains to be seen whether BMW will introduce all three facelifted variants or limit the Indian market to a single trim.
With more power, better range, and enhanced comfort features, the facelifted BMW iX is set to strengthen its position as a top-tier luxury electric SUV in 2025.
